Indian Council of  Agricultural Research, New Delhi had recognised this department as Centre for Advanced Studies in Agricultural Microbiology, TNAU, Coimbatore since 1995. The programmes continued as CAS in Agrl. MIcrobiology till 2009 by conducting two faculty trainings (21 days) per year. From 2009-2010 the programme was renamed as Centre of Advanced Faculty Training in Agricultural Microbiology till date.

 

Objectives:

  • To strengthen the UG and PG programme in Agricultural Microbiology
  • To strengthen the research activities in one of the important areas of Agricultural Microbiology.
  • To offer training to scientists and faculty members of state agricultural universities and central institutes.
  • To upgrade the research and teaching facilities in Agricultural Microbiology.
